Northside's eastbound on-ramp to close overnight Monday and Tuesday for repairs
NAMPA - The eastbound on-ramp at Northside Boulevard, at Exit 35, will close overnight Monday (Aug. 25) and Tuesday (Aug. 26) as crews complete safety-joint repair and bearing-pad replacement for the ongoing bridge project, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The closures will occur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Traffic will be detoured north to Karcher Road, east on Karcher to Franklin Road, and south on Franklin to the on-ramp.
Additionally, Northside Boulevard will have reduced lanes for the next few weeks. However, at least one lane in each direction will remain open.
The temporary traffic shifts in Nampa's Northside Boulevard area (Exit 35) are finished. Normal traffic flows and speed limits have resumed on the impacted stretch of Interstate 84, which includes the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Bridge and Northside Boulevard Overpass.
The bridge decks on the westbound UPRR bridge and the eastbound Northside structure were replaced, while decks on the eastbound UPRR bridge and westbound Northside were repaired and sealed.
The Northside Boulevard Interchange is ranked eighth in the state in traffic volume, carrying 80,000 vehicles per day. Both bridges were built in 1966.
Granite Construction, of Salt Lake City, is the contractor for this $4 million project.
