Snake River View Rest Area on I-84 eastbound to close Tuesday as traffic shifts
BOISE - The Snake River View Rest Area at Interstate 84 eastbound (at milepost 1, just on the Idaho side of the Snake River Bridge) will close after the holiday weekend.  Crews hope to complete resurfacing work by Oct. 15 and reopen the eastbound lanes and the rest area at that time.

The construction project on I-84 will shift all traffic to the westbound lanes in the early morning hours Tuesday (Sept. 2), with no general public access available to eastbound I-84 in the area, or to the rest area.

During this time, the off- and on-ramps will be closed at I-84’s Exit 9 to New Plymouth via U.S. 30. Signed detours will be posted.

Western Construction, Boise, is the contractor on this $9.6 million pavement rehabilitation project to provide new pavement and a smoother ride from the Snake River Bridge to Black Canyon Interchange.
