Nighttime lane restrictions coming this week on I-84 near Broadway interchange
BOISE – Starting tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 2), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will restrict lanes on westbound Interstate 84 east of the Broadway Avenue Interchange from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to give crews a larger work zone to improve the drain system in the freeway median. The overnight lane restrictions will be in place through the end of the week (Sept. 2–6).

The work is part of constructing the new Broadway Avenue Interchange. ITD is replacing the old interchange with one that will accommodate higher traffic volumes and more lanes on I-84.

β€œITD urges everyone traveling on I-84 to leave early, and when driving through the work zone, please remember to slow down and pay attention,” said Reed Hollinshead, ITD public information specialist.

The speed limit is 55 mph on I-84 and 25 mph on Broadway Avenue.

Construction is expected to be completed in late 2015.
