Eastbound I-84 off-ramp will close Saturday and Sunday nights at Gowen interchange
BOISE – The eastbound Interstate 84 off-ramp will be closed at the Gowen Road Interchange Saturday and Sunday nights (Oct. 4 and 5) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.
Crews will work through the weekend to place guardrail, stripe the roadway and shift traffic to a new temporary eastbound off-ramp. The traffic shift allows crews to build the new eastbound ramp and rehabilitate the old bridge deck over the railroad tracks.
Drivers may access Gowen Road from the Broadway Avenue Interchange via Production Street during the ramp closures. Click here to download a map of the detour route.
ITD reminds drivers to slow down and pay attention in the work zone. The speed limit is 55 mph on I-84 and 25 mph on Gowen Road.
The Gowen interchange is being replaced to accommodate more traffic and improve safety. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2015.
Knife River Corporation, of Boise, is the contractor for this $27 million project.
