Lane restriction changes on I-84 and I-184 at Wye Interchange
BOISE – Merging traffic patterns on westbound I-84 and I-184 at the Wye Interchange will change tonight (Friday, Oct. 10). Four lanes of I-84 will merge into three lanes. The far right lane of I-84 will be reduced just past the Maple Grove overpass.
The lane restrictions are part of a new traffic pattern put in place earlier this week on I-84 between Five Mile and Meridian. The restrictions will allow crews to rebuild the original 1960s outside lanes and shoulders of this stretch of I-84.

“ITD is monitoring how the merge points on I-84 and I-184 affect traffic flow through the construction zone,” said Jayme Coonce, ITD project engineer. “We will continue to adjust the traffic plan to optimize safety and minimize delays.”
ITD is reconstructing the Meridian Road Interchange and improving I-84 between Meridian and Five Mile roads. The project also includes rebuilding the drainage system in the median and resurfacing the inside lanes.
Concrete Placing Company, of Boise, is the contractor for the $50.8 million project. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2015.
