Idaho 69 seal coat work begins Wednesday (June 22)

BOISE - Idaho 69 will receive a seal coat beginning Wednesday (June 22), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The seal coat will be placed from Overland Road to Pauls Market on the edge of Kuna.

The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced from 55 mph to 35 mph for at least seven days, beginning Wednesday (June 22). Motorists are reminded to drive slowly and follow other vehicles at a safe distance to reduce the risk of windshield damage.

No lane closures will happen 6-8:30 a.m. or 4-7 p.m. on weekdays.

A seal coat protects the existing road from water damage, prolongs its life and provides better traction. Crews will first apply a layer of asphalt to the roadway, followed by a layer of gravel.

Snake River Construction is the contractor for this $305,000 project.
