Middle Fork Boise River Road is scheduled to open on Friday
BOISE - The Middle Fork Boise River Road will open on Friday (Oct. 31) after being closed to repair damage to the route caused by flooding this summer.
Heavy rains created flash flooding that washed out the road in early August. Construction crews worked quickly to make repairs after the flooding. There are two access roads to the community of Atlanta, and the Middle Fork Boise River Road is the only one that offers access during the winter months.
The Local Highway Technical Assistance Council, in cooperation with the Idaho Transportation Department, provided project oversight. This includes coordinating with the U.S. Forest Service and the Atlanta Highway District.
The work is being done by two local contractors, Boise-based Western Construction Inc. and Robison Logging and Excavating of Grand View.
