Southwest Idaho highway construction report for Oct. 31-Nov. 7
ADA COUNTY
Meridian, Broadway and Gowen interchange reconstructions (GARVEE)
I-84, Broadway Avenue Interchange
As of October 31, motorists will use the newly completed westbound on-ramp to
enter I-84 from Broadway Avenue. In addition, traffic on Broadway Avenue will
be shifted to the east.
With the new I-84 westbound on-ramp open, crews will begin removing the existing soundwall along the old ramp. Panels removed from this wall will be reused to build a new soundwall.

I-84, Gowen Road Interchange
During the next week, I-84 traffic will be shifted into new configurations everyday as crews work to remove the crossover traffic pattern on eastbound I-84 between
the Eisenman and Gowen interchanges. After
this work is complete, I-84 near the Gowen Interchange will have one lane open
on the eastbound side of the interstate and one lane open on the westbound
side.
The crossover pattern was put in place several months ago so crews could construct improvements on the eastbound side of the Gowen Interchange. Work accomplished over the summer included tearing down and rebuilding the I-84 eastbound bridge over Gowen Road, widening the I-84 railroad bridge, and constructing the new eastbound on- and off-ramps.
Traffic will be shifted onto the new permanent eastbound off-ramp early next week.

I-84, Meridian Road Interchange
Crews have removed the old Meridian Interchange bridge and will work over the
next several months to build the east half of the new bridge. Crews will also
begin rebuilding the east half of Meridian Road between Overland Road and the
interstate ramps. Traffic on Meridian Road has been shifted to the west half of
the new bridge.
