Transportation department hosts public meeting on Idaho 55 bridge project in Cascade Dec. 2
BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department is hosting a public meeting Tuesday (Dec. 2) to share plans on a project to replace a bridge on Idaho 55 just north of Cascade.
The North Fork Payette River Bridge will be replaced in early 2015. The existing bridge was built in 1950. This year, load limits were placed on the bridge to manage the amount of weight on it at any one time.
The public meeting will be Dec. 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 60 building, 105 E. Mill Street in Cascade. Transportation department staff members will be available to answer questions, and displays will illustrate information on the bridge replacement project.
Construction is anticipated to start in April 2015. During work, one lane will be open in each direction. The speed limit will be 35 miles per hour. Construction is expected to take four months.
Those with questions about the project or public meeting can send an email to comments@itd.idaho.gov or call Adam Rush at (208) 334-8119.
