Public meeting planned Wednesday (Dec. 3) to discuss U.S. 93 work
HOLLISTER – The public is invited to attend an open house Wednesday (Dec. 3) to discuss the future rehabilitation and paving of U.S. 93 south of and through Hollister, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The open house will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hollister Elementary School, 2463 Contact Avenue, Hollister.
Illustrations of the roadway improvements will be available for review. ITD staff will be on hand to discuss the project specifics, including roadway design, construction schedules and restrictions, and traffic control plans. ITD is collecting input from members of the public that may be taken into consideration prior to construction.
The work, scheduled to begin in 2017, will rehabilitate the roadway base, repave the driving surface, replace a box culvert near milepost 21, and construct an acceleration/deceleration lane between the Hollister Port of Entry and 2400 North Road. Construction is expected to impact business and residential access points.
The project extends from near Deep Creek to the north city limit of Hollister, from approximately milepost 20 to 28.
