Eleven bridge decks in north-central Idaho to be preserved in upcoming projects
LEWISTON - A group of 11 bridges in north-central Idaho will be resurfaced and repaired in 2016 to extend the life of the structure and preserve the driving surface, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. All bridges are between 15 and 60 years old.
Cracks will be sealed in the bridge decks, and the structures will receive overlays (concrete or epoxy) to protect and seal the driving surface. The work is dependent upon the availability of funds.
The projects were delivered to PS&E (plans, specifications and estimates) in early October. PS&E is one of the final internal steps before the project is presented to contractors to bid on the proposed work.
The bridges are:
- Idaho 3, Arrow Gulch Bridge
- Idaho 3, Little Potlatch Creek Bridge
- Idaho 3, Big Bear Creek Bridge,
- Idaho 6, Palouse River Bridge at Harvard
- U.S. 12, Arrow Bridge
- U.S. 95, Lapwai Creek Bridge (there are two of them about a mile apart)
- U.S. 95, Lawyers Canyon Bridge
- U.S. 95/U.S. 12 Interchange Bridge
- U.S. 95, John Day Creek Bridge
- U.S. 95, Goff Bridge
