I-84 between Eagle Interchange and Five Mile Overpass will return to four lanes this weekend

MERIDIAN--Interstate 84 between the Eagle Interchange and Five Mile Overpass will return to four lanes in both directions this weekend, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

Over the next several days, construction crews will remove old striping, move guardrail and restripe I-84 back to four lanes in each direction between the Eagle Interchange and Five Mile Overpass. Crews will work overnight from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday and Saturday (Dec. 5-6) and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 7) to complete the work.

These activities are weather dependent.

Both westbound and eastbound I-84 will remain four lanes until February 2015. ITD anticipates lane restrictions and a crossover traffic pattern will be put back in place on I-84 between Meridian and Five Mile.

The project is expected to be complete by late next year.
