Southwest Idaho highway construction report for week of Dec. 8-12
Activities this week are weather dependent.
I-84, Broadway Avenue Interchange
Crews have completed placing soundwall panels along the westbound on-ramp and continue to excavate the stormwater drainage area behind the soundwall. Construction crews are in the process of paving the median east of the railroad bridge to just west of the Broadway Interchange, along with temporary ramps.

I-84, Gowen Road Interchange
Eastbound I-84 between the Eisenman and Gowen interchanges has returned to two lanes. Over the weekend, crews finished removing lane restrictions and crossover traffic pattern near the Gowen Interchange that have been in place for the past several months. The crossover pattern was put in
place earlier this year so crews could rebuild the I-84 eastbound bridge over Gowen Road, widen the I-84 railroad bridge, and construct the new eastbound on- and off-ramps. In the spring, another crossover pattern is planned for I-84 at Gowen so crews can remove and rebuild the westbound I-84 bridge over Gowen Road.
This week, crews will start to work on rebuilding Gowen Road between S. Eisenman Road and the westbound off-ramps. Intermittent nighttime lane restrictions will be in place on Gowen Road as crews place pavement and install temporary signals.

I-84, Meridian Road Interchange
I-84 has returned to four lanes in each direction from the Eagle Interchange to the Five Mile Overpass. Both westbound and eastbound I-84 will remain four lanes until early next year. In February 2015, lane restrictions and a crossover traffic pattern will be put back in place on I-84 between Meridian and Five Mile. Crews will continue constructing bridge piers, columns and walls on the east half of the bridge. Crews will continue to work on installing new signal foundations at the northeast and northwest corners of the intersection of Meridian and Overland roads. The existing signal poles will be replaced with new, relocated poles to accommodate the widening of Meridian Road.
