UPDATE: One lane of I-84 open near Burley following truck crash
BURLEY – A single lane has been opened on westbound Interstate 84 in southern Minidoka County following a Monday morning semi-truck crash, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Crews continue to work to open both lanes near milepost 214.
Both westbound lanes of I-84 were closed and traffic was detoured between the Declo interchange (Exit 216) and the Heyburn interchange (Exit 211). Drivers are urged to use caution through the area and watch for personnel and equipment working.
The truck crashed into the guardrail and concrete wall crossing over the A Canal at about milepost 214 and started on fire. About 200 feet of guardrail was damaged. Crews will temporarily replace the steel guardrail with concrete rail and assess the roadway for additional damage before opening both lanes.
