Work this week on Greensferry Overpass in Post Falls focused on median bridge pier

POST FALLS – Work for the remainder of this week (through Feb. 22) on the new Greensferry Overpass bridge near Post Falls will focus on construction of the median bridge pier, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The inside shoulders of Interstate 90 will be closed, but no lane or outside shoulder closures will be required.

The contractor is now working on the median of I-90. In addition, work has begun along Greensferry Road north of the freeway. Utility work south of the interstate will commence later in the week near Schneidmiller Avenue and Greensferry Road.

Year-long construction of the overpass in Post Falls began Dec. 1, 2014. The project will build a new bridge spanning I-90 and Schneidmiller on the south side of the freeway. When completed, the new structure will feature two lanes in each direction, a center-turn lane, bicycle lanes and sidewalks on both sides connecting to Centennial Park.

Ralph L. Wadsworth (RLW), of Draper, Utah, is the firm responsible for this $15 million design-build project. The overpass is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2015. The Post Falls Urban Renewal Agency funded the project.
