I-84 lane restrictions near Broadway Interchange on Tuesday, Feb. 24
BOISE – On Tuesday night (Feb. 24), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will restrict lanes on eastbound Interstate 84 near the Broadway Interchange from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The lane restrictions will allow crews to place four girders for the interstate bridge that crosses over the Union Pacific railroad. The railroad bridge, which is just east of the Broadway Interchange, is being widened as part of improvements to I-84.
“The bridge that crews are working on is integrated into the interstate and many drivers may not even realize they are passing over the railroad,” said ITD Project Engineer Dana Weiss. “Rebuilding and widening this bridge is necessary in order to accommodate additional lanes on I-84.”
The speed limit is 55 mph on I-84 and 25 mph on Broadway Avenue.
Construction is expected to be completed in late 2015.
