CORRECTION: Flagging crews will assist motorists on Idaho 55 near Banks on Tuesday (July 4)
EDITOR'S NOTE: Corrects day in second graph for consistency.

BOISE - The transportation department's holiday traffic control project will assist motorists at the intersection of Idaho 55 and Banks to Lowman Road on Tuesday (July 4), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Flaggers have assisted motorists at this intersection during summer holidays since 1995.

Flagging crews will be in place at the Banks intersection at 10 a.m. Tuesday and stay until 7 p.m. or when traffic subsides. The flaggers will not work past sundown.

Recreationists who use Idaho 55 over Independence Day weekend can avoid heavy traffic by traveling outside peak times or using an alternate route.

The rehabilitation project on Rainbow Bridge north of Smiths Ferry will be suspended between noon Friday and noon Wednesday to avoid impacts to holiday traffic. No traffic restrictions from the project will be in place during the weekend.
