UPDATE: Traffic shifts on I-84 between Eisenman and Gowen Interchanges (March 1-5)
BOISE – On Sunday night (Mar. 1), crews will begin putting in place a new traffic pattern on I-84 at the Gowen Interchange, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. By Thursday (Mar. 5), I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction 24/7 along a 1.5 mile stretch east and west of the Gowen Interchange.
This work is weather dependent.

From Sunday through Thursday (March 1-5), lanes will be restricted in both directions on I-84 from the Eisenman Interchange to just west of the Gowen Interchange. The lane restrictions will allow crews to stripe the roadway and install guardrail for the new crossover pattern. Traffic on this stretch of I-84 will be shifted into new configurations nearly every day throughout the week.
On Sunday (March 1), the eastbound on- and off-ramps at the Gowen Interchange will be closed overnight. On Monday night (March 2) the eastbound on-ramp will be closed. The ramp closures will start at 8 p.m., and the ramps will reopen at 5 a.m. on both Sunday and Monday nights.

“Several major milestones are scheduled for early spring that will impact traffic on I-84, Gowen Road and Federal Way,” said ITD Project Manager Merrill Sharp. “ITD will be sure to provide notice for each of these construction activities before they begin.”
ITD reminds drivers that construction will dramatically increase at the I-84, Gowen Interchange starting the first week of March.
ITD is replacing the I-84, Gowen Interchange and adding a third lane on I-84 in order to add capacity and help reduce traffic congestion. Construction will be complete late this year.
