ITD maintenance crews to repair culvert on U.S. 2 near Priest River March 16
COEUR d'ALENE - Maintenance crews from the Idaho Transportation Department’s north Idaho office will repair sections of road and culvert on U.S. 2 near Priest River for more than a week starting March 16.
Crews will work from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for about eight days, at milepost 8.5 and milepost 9.2 (a few miles north of town). They will be lining two 48-inch galvanized culverts with 40-inch plastic inserts, and filling the voids between the two culverts with concrete grout.
“This work improves and repairs these culverts to keep water off the roads,” explained ITD District 1 (north Idaho) Administrative Manager Scotty Fellom. “Especially with spring runoff approaching, it is important to stay ahead of any potential water issues.”
One lane of traffic will be maintained during this work, with brief lane closers. Most work will be conducted over the bank, out of lanes of traffic.
