Public meeting scheduled for U.S. 95 bridge replacement project

BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department is hosting a public meeting on Wednesday (March 18) to share information on a project to replace a bridge on U.S. 95.

The Little Salmon River Bridge, at milepost 176 in Idaho and Adams counties, was built in 1957. The project proposes to replace and widen the existing bridge and approaches with a single span girder bridge. The proposed new bridge will be approximately 205 feet long and 42 feet wide. It also has two 12-foot travel lanes and six-foot shoulders on both sides. The new bridge will be nine feet wider than the existing one.

The public meeting is Wednesday, March 18, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Meadows Valley Junior/Senior High School, 500 Miller Avenue, in New Meadows.

Transportation department staff will be available to answer questions, and displays will illustrate information on the bridge replacement project.

Construction is anticipated to start in the late summer or early fall of 2016. During construction, one lane of traffic will remain open at all times on U.S. 95.

Those with questions about the public meeting or bridge project can contact Adam Rush, Idaho Transportation Department public involvement coordinator, at adam.rush@itd.idaho.gov or by phone at (208) 334-8119.
