Pavement preservation to begin on interchanges east of Boise to Glenns Ferry in April

BOISE—Pavement preservation will occur on several Interstate 84 interchanges east of Boise to Glenns Ferry starting in early April, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Work to preserve the existing pavement will continue for about five weeks and includes mill-and-inlay paving.

Construction will occur at the following interchanges:

  • Blacks Creek (milepost 64) Eastbound and Westbound ramps
  • Mayfield (milepost 71) Westbound off-and on-ramps
  • Simco Road (milepost 74) Westbound off-and on-ramps
  • Mountain Home-Fairfield (milepost  95) Eastbound and Westbound ramps
  • Mountain Home-Old Oregon Trail (milepost 99) Eastbound and Westbound ramps
  • State Highway 78 (milepost 112) Eastbound and Westbound ramps
  • Cold Springs Road-State Highway 78 (milepost 114) Eastbound and Westbound ramps
  • Glenns Ferry (milepost 120 and 121) Eastbound and Westbound ramps

The interstate will remain open during construction, with limited right-lane closures near each work zone and a reduced speed limit of 65 miles per hour. Some work will require an overnight interchange closure at Blacks Creek from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. A detour will be in place with times and dates to be announced.

Western Construction, of Boise, is the project contractor. The contract amount is $1,333,000.
