Traffic will be shifted to temporary I-84 westbound on-ramp at Broadway Interchange tonight (March 17)

BOISE – Motorists entering westbound Interstate 84 from Broadway Avenue will begin using a temporary on-ramp tomorrow morning (March 18), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. Lane restrictions will be in place tonight (March 17) from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. on the ramp and westbound I-84 near the Broadway Interchange as crews put the traffic shift into place.

Shifting traffic to the temporary ramp will give crews room to build the permanent ramp and outside lanes and shoulders of I-84. Traffic will use the temporary westbound on-ramp for the next several months.  Tonight, drivers can also expect overnight lane restrictions (8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.) on Broadway Avenue as crews stripe the roadway and westbound on-ramp.

ITD reminds drivers to slow down and pay attention in the work zone. The speed limit is 55 mph on I-84 and 25 mph on Broadway Avenue.

Construction of the new Broadway Interchange is expected to be complete late this year.
