Westbound I-84 will be closed tonight (April 2) at Gowen Interchange for paving activities
BOISE – Westbound Interstate 84 will be closed tonight (April 2) at the Gown Interchange, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., westbound interstate traffic will be detoured across the Gowen Interchange while crews pave a section of I-84.
During the overnight closure, westbound traffic will exit I-84 at the Gowen Interchange, cross Gowen Road and re-enter I-84 from the opposite on-ramp. Flaggers will direct traffic.
ITD reminds drivers to leave early, slow down and pay attention.
ITD is replacing the I-84, Gowen Interchange and adding a third lane on I-84 in order to add capacity and help reduce traffic congestion. Construction will be complete late this year.
Knife River Construction is the contractor for the I-84, Gowen Interchange project.
