New traffic pattern begins next week on I-84 between Cloverdale Road and Wye Interchange

BOISE--Over the weekend (April 17-19), the Idaho Transportation Department  will change the traffic pattern that has been in place for the past few months on I-84 between the Wye Interchange and Cloverdale Road. Once in place, the new traffic pattern will give crews room to replace 300 feet of concrete near the Five Mile overpass.

By Monday morning (April 20), westbound I-84 will be returned to four lanes from the Wye Interchange to Cloverdale Road. Between Cloverdale Road and the Meridian Interchange, westbound I-84 will remain restricted to three lanes with a crossover traffic pattern. Drivers in the far left lane will not have access to exit I-84 at the Eagle or Meridian interchanges.

As part of the new traffic pattern, eastbound I-84 between the Meridian and Wye interchanges will remain restricted to three lanes, but the crossover on this side of the interstate will be removed. Over the next several weeks, the traffic pattern on this stretch of interstate will continue to be adjusted as crews continue rebuilding the outside lanes and shoulders of I-84 near the Five Mile overpass.

To prepare for putting the new traffic pattern in place, this weekend crews will be moving guardrail and restriping I-84 between the Eagle Interchange and Five Mile overpass. This work will be done overnight from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday (April 17-18) and to 5 a.m. on Sunday (April 19).

These activities are weather dependent.
