Next stage of Orchard bridge maintenance in Boise will affect traffic on I-184 Connector, Fairview on-ramp Monday night
BOISE – Motorists can expect overnight restrictions on the I-184 Connector and the I-184 on-ramp from Fairview Avenue Monday night (April 27) during maintenance on the Orchard Street Bridge south of Fairview Avenue, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
From 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, the Fairview on-ramp toward Downtown Boise will be closed, and lane restrictions will be in place on I-184 in both directions from Curtis Road to Chinden Boulevard. Westbound I-184 restrictions will continue until 11 a.m.
The restrictions will allow ITD to safely remove the top 1.5 inches of concrete from the west side of the Orchard Street Bridge over I-184. ITD is resurfacing the bridge to extend its lifespan. The east side of the bridge was resurfaced earlier this month.
Traffic will be shifted to new lanes on Orchard Street at 7 a.m. Monday in preparation for the concrete-removal operation. Motorists are advised to slow down and pay attention in the work zone. Lane restrictions will continue on Orchard Street until late May.
The speed limit will be 50 mph on I-184 and 25 mph on Orchard Street while lane restrictions are in place.
ITD is maintaining 10 bridges along the I-184 Connector and I-84 this spring and summer. To receive email notices about upcoming lane closures, email comments@itd.idaho.gov or call (208) 334-8005.
