Work begins Monday on U.S. 95 Goose Creek Bridges near New Meadows

NEW MEADOWS – Bridge maintenance will begin Monday (May 4) on the Goose Creek bridges on U.S. 95, located about one mile north of New Meadows, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Work on this brief project is expected to finish by June 15.

Crews will remove the deck from the existing bridges, located about a mile apart in Adams County, and place a silica fume overlay to protect the driving surface from weather and water damage.

Traffic will still be able to get through the area, but drivers should expect minor delays of up to 15 minutes during the construction.  A temporary traffic light and flaggers will be used to direct traffic. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph from the current 65 mph, and loads limited to a width of 14 feet, 4 inches. Crews will work 8- to 10-hr. days, beginning around 8 a.m.

C.L. Heilman Company, Inc., of Coeur d’Alene, is the contractor on this $236,000 project.
