I-184 bridge maintenance will affect Emerald Street traffic west of Curtis Road on Friday, Monday
BOISE – Drivers can expect brief delays on Emerald Street west of Curtis Road this Friday (May 1) and Monday (May 4), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Crews will be working on the bridge where Emerald Street crosses over I-184.
Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days, traffic will be stopped briefly on Emerald Street between Raymond Street and Camelot Drive. Flaggers will direct alternating lanes of traffic across the bridge. ITD is repairing and repainting the bridge railing to extend its lifespan. The restrictions on Friday and Monday will allow crews to reinstall railing along the westbound lanes of the bridge and remove railing from the eastbound lanes.
The sidewalk on the eastbound side of the bridge will be closed until mid-May. A temporary concrete barrier will protect traffic. The sidewalk on the westbound side will be open.
ITD is maintaining 10 bridges along the I-184 Connector and I-84 this spring and summer. To sign up for emails about lane restrictions during bridge maintenance, email comments@itd.idaho.gov or call (208) 334-8005.
