Interagency Working Group to meet July 11 in Boise
BOISE - The Interagency Working Group, a coalition of agencies and organizations that provides guidance on public transportation issues, will meet July 11 in Boise, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.  The meeting will be in the Annex Building east conference room, 3293 Jordan St.

Among the major agenda items is a report and discussion of an April 11 statewide meeting of public transportation service providers.  The intent of that meeting was to determine how to better plan and implement a more efficient public transit system statewide, explains Larry Falkner, administrator of ITDs Division of Public Transportation.

Recommendations from that meeting of public transportation stakeholders will be essential to the drafting of a statewide public transportation plan.

Other agenda items for the IWG meeting include representative reports, discussion of outreach and communications efforts, and assessment, update and revisions to the work plan.

The IGW includes representatives from the transportation department, the Division of Medicaid, Community Transportation Association of Idaho, Commission on Aging, Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Education, Council on Developmental Disabilities, Idaho Head Start Association and the Office of the Governor.

IGWs mission is to provide leadership in developing coordinated, responsible and integrated public transportation systems in Idaho.

The July 11 meeting is open to the public. For more information, contact the Division of Public Transportation at (208) 334-8281.
