Idaho 45 resurfacing and pedestrian improvements in Nampa to begin in May

BOISE – Resurfacing of Idaho 45 in Nampa, from Deer Flat Road to 3rd Street South, is set to begin in early May, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

In conjunction with the resurfacing work, construction crews will complete various pedestrian improvements, specifically a new high-intensity active-crosswalk signal near Nampa High School and reconstruction of approximately 138 non-compliant Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps.

Construction crews plan to complete the project in four phases, starting between Deer Flat and Locust Lane, working north to 3rd Street South. The phases are as follows:

  • Section 1 (Deer Flat Road to Locust Lane): resurfacing
  • Section 2 (Locust Lane to Greenhurst Road): resurfacing and pedestrian ramp improvements
  • Section 3 (Greenhurst Road to 14th Street South): resurfacing, pedestrian crossing at Colorado Avenue and pedestrian ramp improvements
  • Section 4 (14th Street South to 3rd Street South): resurfacing and pedestrian ramp improvements

Crews will complete all curb ramp work in advance of repaving. Resurfacing will occur during nighttime hours. Lane restrictions will be in place during nighttime work. Motorists can expect periodic lane closures during the day.

Construction is scheduled for completion in late summer 2015. Idaho Sand & Gravel, of Nampa, is the contractor for this $4.7 million project.
