Signal at Gowen Road and I-84 eastbound ramps will be turned off for several hours Tuesday night (May 5)
BOISE – For several hours Tuesday night (May 5), flaggers will direct traffic through the intersection of Gowen Road and the Interstate 84, eastbound ramps, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. Crews will be installing a new signal at the intersection as part of the I-84 Gowen Interchange project.
The signal will be turned off from 8 p.m. to midnight, and flaggers will control traffic through the intersection. The new signal is expected to be in operation by Wednesday morning (May 6).
Intermittent nighttime lane closures will continue on Gowen Road through the end of May. Lane restrictions will be in place between Federal Way and Eisenman from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews continue to widen and rebuild the roadway.
ITD encourages drivers to slow down and pay attention in the work zone. The speed limit is 55 mph on I-84 and 25 mph on Gowen Road and Federal Way.
