Repair work on Ken Curtis Bridge begins Monday
BUHL – Work to complete bridge maintenance and resurfacing will impact traffic on Idaho 46 as it crosses the Snake River, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Drivers should expect short delays and restrictions over the Ken Curtis Bridge on the Twin Falls/Gooding County line for about two months.
The project, expected to begin Monday (May 11), will resurface the driving lanes, repair cracked and chipped concrete, upgrade guardrail, and repair eroded areas and install slope protection below the bridge. The maintenance project will protect against cracking and corrosion, restore strength and skid resistance to the driving surface, and improve the lifespan of the bridge.

The roadway will be reduced to one lane and controlled by a temporary traffic signal. Drivers are cautioned to reduce speed throughout the construction zone. A 13-foot width restriction will be in effect.
Cannon Builders Inc., of Blackfoot, is the contractor for the $560,130 project.
The Ken Curtis Bridge was constructed in 1968 and has an average of about 3,400 vehicles pass over it each day. Work is expected to be complete in July.
