All lanes of Orchard Street in Boise over I-184 will re-open Wednesday after bridge maintenance finishes ahead of schedule

BOISE – Bridge maintenance on Orchard Street over I-184 will end 11 days ahead of schedule this week, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. All lanes of Orchard Street between Bond and Irving streets, including the I-184 Connector entrance, will be open for the Wednesday (May 13) morning commute.

“Thanks to careful coordination and scheduling, we can avoid nearly two weeks of additional traffic impacts,” said project manager Dana Weiss. “We appreciate drivers’ patience during the work on this bridge.”

Work began in mid-April to repair and resurface Orchard Street Bridge over I-184. The work will protect the bridge from water damage and extend its overall lifespan up to 20 years.

ITD will maintain nine other bridges along the I-184 Connector and I-84 this spring and summer. Work on the other bridges will begin in June. To receive email notices about traffic impacts during bridge maintenance, email comments@itd.idaho.gov or call (208) 334-8005.

Braun-Jensen, Inc., of Payette, is the contractor for this $1.4 million project.
