Construction update for eastern Idaho June 15-20
RIGBY Construction continues on the following projects in eastern Idaho, the
Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Sunnyside I-15
Interchange to I-15B Traffic on Interstate 15 south of Idaho Falls is
one lane in each direction from milepost 114 to 120. The speed limit is 55 mph.
Work continues on the I-15 interchange overpass and girders are being placed on
the Snake River Bridge. Idaho Construction of Kimberly is the contractor for the
$21 million project scheduled for completion by fall 2006.
U.S. 20, Hitt and St. Leon interchanges Traffic is one
lane in each direction. The speed limit is 55 mph. Western Construction of Boise
is building the $19 million project, which is scheduled for completion by this
fall.
U.S. 20 South of Ashton Paving is under way on
U.S. 20 south of Ashton. Traffic is one-lane, one-way during work hours and
controlled by flaggers and pilot cars between mileposts 353 and 360. Motorists
should expect delays up to 15 minutes. The speed limit is 45 mph. The $1.8
million pavement rehabilitation is being done by H-K Contractors of Idaho
Falls.
U.S. 20/Holbrook Road Work continues on U.S. 20 south of
Rigby. The U.S. 20/Holbrook Road intersection is permanently closed. To prepare
for construction of a cul-de-sac at the end of Holbrook Road (east of the
highway), H-K Contractors removed asphalt from 200 North, east and west of the
highway. The project includes lengthening the southbound on-ramp, realigning 200
North west of the highway and repairing the existing overpass. The South Rigby
overpass is closed through mid-July. Alternate routes are the North Rigby and
the County Line Road interchanges.
Idaho 33, Canyon Creek Bridge
Work is scheduled to resume June 20 as the contractor, Sletten
Construction of Great Falls, Mont., prepares for the delivery of steel bridge
girders. The speed limit is 45 mph. Traffic is being routed over the old bridge.
The $4.3 million project is scheduled for completion by
fall.
U.S. 93, Arco West H-K Contractors of Idaho
Falls is paving U.S. 93 west of Arco between mileposts 233 and 246. The speed
limit is 45 mph. Where one-way travel is required, pilot cars and flaggers will
direct traffic. Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible. The project is
scheduled to be completed by the end of June.
Pavement Striping
Work is under way to re-stripe the interstate highways throughout
eastern and southeastern Idaho. Promark Inc. of Lolo, Mont., is the contractor
on the $326,000 project. Progress will be dictated by weather.
