Crews repave U.S. 93 south of Salmon
RIGBY - Crews are repaving 11 miles of U.S. 93 south of Salmon, from Eightmile Creek to Rattlesnake Creek, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-June.
During resurfacing, travel will be restricted to one lane, with flaggers directing traffic through the work zone. Motorists can expect delays. Drivers should watch for construction workers and equipment, and obey
all traffic signs. Motorists should be prepared to stop and follow pilot
cars as directed.
Commercial drivers transporting permitted loads wider than 12 feet must contact ITD Resident Engineer Wade Allen (208-745-5680) or Staff Engineer Bryan Young (208-745-5682), 48 hours in advance of travel, for special authorization to pass through the construction zone.
Crews have already resurfaced Main Street and Challis Street in Salmon, and U.S. 93 south of Salmon to Eightmile Creek. Workers will apply pavement markings in Salmon and resurface intersections and approaches south of Salmon.
The transportation department awarded the $3.6-million contract to Western Construction Inc., of Boise.
