Resending: Summer bridge maintenance, I-184 Connector restrictions begin Monday (June 8)
BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department will begin maintenance work to extend the lifespan of nine bridges in the Treasure Valley beginning next week (June 8-24). Motorists can expect nighttime lane restrictions and speed limit reductions on the I-184 Connector and Interstate 84 until August.

The maintenance work includes resurfacing the bridge decks, patching concrete and waterproofing. When complete, ITD estimates the maintenance will extend the lifespan of the bridge surfaces up to 20 years.
Eight of the bridges are located on the Connector between the Wye Interchange and downtown Boise. The ninth bridge is located on I-84 over the New York Canal. Resurfacing on a 10th bridge – the
Orchard Street Bridge over the Connector – was completed in May.
“The work has been carefully coordinated to reduce inconveniences to motorists as much as possible,” said ITD Project Engineer Dana Weiss. “Only three bridges will be restricted at any one time, and most will be completed in under two weeks.”
Upcoming work locations will be announced via email and on 511.idaho.gov. To sign up for email updates for this project, text ITDBRIDGES to 22828 or send your email address to comments@itd.idaho.gov.
