Improvements to westbound I-84 at Broadway Interchange complete this week; traffic shift on Broadway Avenue Tuesday
BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department will finish widening and rebuilding westbound Interstate 84 at the Broadway Interchange this week. By Saturday morning (June 13) three lanes will be open on the westbound side of this stretch of Interstate 84. Throughout the week, crews will be shifting traffic and restriping as part of finalizing the work on westbound I-84.
Work on the eastbound side of I-84 at the Broadway Interchange will be complete in late June.
Over the summer, crews will turn their attention to widening Broadway Avenue between the New York Canal and the TA travel Center. The work on Broadway Avenue will begin with shifting traffic to the west between the I-84 on- and off-ramps.
As crews shift traffic on Tuesday night (June 9), lane restrictions will be in place on Broadway Avenue between the New York Canal and TA Travel Center from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Once traffic is shifted on Broadway Avenue, crews will continue to rebuild the west side of the roadway.
ITD reminds drivers to leave early, slow down and pay attention. The work-zone speed limit is 25 mph on Broadway Avenue and 55 mph on I-84.
