Intermittent closures on Idaho 55 at the North Fork Payette River Bridge will begin Monday (June 15)
BOISE– The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing the Idaho 55 North Fork Payette River Bridge just north of Cascade. Drivers should plan extra time when traveling on Idaho 55 between Cascade and McCall starting Monday, (June 15) as crews place girders for the new bridge.
Crews will be working in the daytime from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Traffic on Idaho 55 will be stopped in both directions for periods of 20-45 minutes at the bridge while support beams are being placed.
Throughout construction, the speed limit in the work zone is 25 mph.
“The North Fork Payette River Bridge is 65 years old and needs to be rebuilt to meet today’s safety standards and traffic loads,” said ITD project manager Kelley Lower. “Please remember to slow down, pay attention, and leave early while traveling on Idaho 55 this summer.”
Construction is expected to be completed late this year. To sign up for email construction updates, contact ITD at comments@itd.idaho.gov, visit the project website at www.itd.idaho.gov/Projects/D3/ID55NorthForkBridge, text CASCADEBRIDGE to 22828, or call (208) 334-8938.
