Public invited to comment on management of U.S. 20-26

BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department is hosting two open houses to gather input on a long-term plan to improve U.S. 20/26 from Eagle Road to I-84 in Caldwell.

The open houses provide identical information and have been scheduled at each end of the corridor.

The first open house will be Tuesday (June 23) at Thomas Jefferson Charter School (1209 Adam Smith Avenue, Caldwell) from 5 to 7 p.m. The second open house will be Thursday (June 25) at The Ambrose School (6100 N. Locust Grove Road, Meridian) from 5 to 7 p.m.

“The corridor study is a long-range plan for U.S. 20/26 that identifies recommended roadway improvements and right-of-way needs between now and 2040,” said ITD Project Manager, Marc Danley. “ITD wants to keep U.S. 20/26 functioning as a safe, primary east-west route as residential and business development transforms this highway into an urban corridor.”

Materials from the open house will be available at ITD’s project website from Friday, June 26, through Friday, July 10. In addition, ITD will host live online Q & A sessions, where participants can have their questions answered by the project manager.

The Q & A sessions will be on Monday, June 29, from noon to 1 p.m. and Tuesday, June 30, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
