Reminder: Overnight lane restrictions on Meridian Road near I-84; access changes to I-84 at Meridian Interchange tonight

BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department reminds drivers that Meridian Road near Interstate 84 will be reduced to one lane with flaggers tonight (June 26). The lane restrictions will be in place between Central Drive and Overland Road from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. as crews shift traffic to the east.

Additional traffic impacts at the Meridian Interchange this weekend include:

• Restricting lanes on Meridian Road, Overland Road and the westbound off-ramp tonight in preparation for the traffic shift beginning at 8 p.m.
• Closing and removing the eastbound I-84 “loop” on-ramp from southbound Meridian Road. Starting at 10 p.m., all motorists will access eastbound I-84 from Meridian Road using a temporary signal. The loop ramp is being removed to make way for a new longer and wider eastbound off-ramp that will be part of the new I-84-Meridian Interchange.
• All on- and off-ramps at the Meridian Interchange will be shifted to the north, and temporary signals will be installed.

Motorists will continue to use the east side of Meridian Road through the summer as crews rebuild the west side of the roadway.

The work zone speed limit is 35 mph on Meridian Road and 55 mph on I-84. ITD urges drivers to leave early, slow down and pay attention.
