Intermittent closures, lane restrictions and flagging on Idaho 55 at the North Fork Payette River Bridge Wednesday (July 1)

CASCADE – Starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday (July 1), traffic on Idaho 55 will be stopped in both directions at the North Fork Payette River Bridge for periods of 20 to 45 minutes the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

Throughout the morning, crews will be placing support beams as part of ITD’s project to rebuild the bridge, located just north of Cascade.

Once the support beams are set, the bridge will be restricted to one lane, and flaggers will direct traffic in alternating directions until 7 p.m. The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 25 mph.

“If you are traveling between Cascade and McCall on Wednesday, be sure to plan extra time and prepare for delays,” said ITD Project Manager Kelley Lower.

There will be no construction activity or traffic impacts at the Idaho 55 North Fork Payette River Bridge over the fourth of July weekend (July 3-6).

Construction at the North Fork Payette River Bridge began in June and is expected to be complete late this year. ITD is replacing the bridge to meet today’s safety standards and traffic loads.
