Chip seal work to begin on Idaho 55 from Horseshoe Bend to Donnelly week of July 6

BOISE—Work on Idaho 55 from Horseshoe Bend to Donnelly to place a chip seal will start the week of July 6. This work will extend the life of the existing pavement.

Construction will start in Horseshoe Bend and continue north for the project’s duration of three weeks, based on a Monday through Thursday work schedule (with the exception of July 6). Work will occur during daylight hours with some brooming activities at night.

The roadway will remain open during construction, but reduced to one lane in the work zone with a pilot car and flaggers assisting motorists. Delays are expected and drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay attention.

Poe Asphalt Paving is the project contractor. The contract amount is $2.4 million.
