U.S. 93 flyover west of Twin Falls to close, traffic detour begins Monday (July 6)

TWIN FALLS – Eastbound traffic approaching U.S. 93 from Filer on 4100 North Road will be detoured for about six weeks during reconstruction of the bridge-approach slabs for the U.S. 93 flyover, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Work will begin Monday (July 6) to remove and replace the approach slabs, rebuild the approaching roadway and reinstall guardrail. The flyover connects eastbound 4100 North Road (Pole Line Road) to U.S. 93 between Filer and Twin Falls. Eastbound traffic will be detoured one mile south on 2400 East Road to enter U.S. 93 at 4000 North Road. The work is expected to be complete by mid-August.

Work will not affect westbound traffic. The ramp onto 4100 North Road will remain open during construction.

The bridge was constructed during the second stage of the Twin Falls Alternate Route in 2010. The approach slabs were placed at an inconsistent angle with the bridge, resulting in a bump at both ends of the bridge.

The work is part of a $1.5 million district-wide, bridge-repair contract being completed by Cannon Builders Inc. of Blackfoot.
