Public comment sought on potential safety improvements to U.S. 30/Idaho 72 junction
BOISE - A public meeting will be held Wednesday, July 15, to gather comments on potential safety improvements to the U.S. 30/Idaho 72 junction, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The transportation department is studying how to make changes to the junction to improve safety and reduce the number of accidents. At the junction, there isn’t lighting. In addition, the intersection is not designed to accommodate large trucks or agricultural equipment.
The transportation department is considering how to reduce delays by improving the level of service while minimizing impacts to utilities and local residents.
The public meeting is Wednesday, July 15, at the New Plymouth Senior Center, 126 S. Plymouth Avenue, in New Plymouth. Transportation department staff members will be available to answer questions, and displays will illustrate project information. The meeting is from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in an open house format. Those interested in attending can stop by anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
