Overnight lane restrictions and flagging on Broadway Avenue at I-84 on Thursday (July 23)
BOISE--On Thursday night (July 23), lanes will be restricted on Broadway Avenue at Interstate 84 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. Traffic is being shifted to the west side of Broadway Avenue so crews can continue to improve and rebuild the roadway.
Flaggers will direct traffic on Broadway Avenue Wednesday night as crews put the traffic shift into place.
Through late summer, motorists will use newly laid pavement on the west side of Broadway Avenue as crews continue to improve the east side of the roadway between the New York Canal and TA Travel Center.

“Drivers should plan extra time when traveling on, off and over I-84 at Broadway Avenue,” said Dana Weiss, ITD Project Engineer. “In addition to the upcoming traffic shift, we recently turned on the new traffic signal; so all operations at this interchange are being controlled from a central point. It is important to be aware of these changes, and use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.”
ITD is rebuilding Broadway Avenue at I-84 as part of replacing the Broadway Interchange. Improvements will include new curb, gutter, sidewalks and bicycle lanes and adding dual left-turn lanes at the eastbound I-84 on-ramp.
Construction is on schedule to be complete late this year.
