Paving and patching begin along Blues Lakes, Addison Tuesday night (July 28)
TWIN FALLS – Drivers may expect lane closures and short delays along Blue Lakes Boulevard and Addison Avenue beginning Tuesday night (July 28) as asphalt repair is completed, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. A small portion of work also will be performed on U.S. 30 in Buhl.
Crews will remove approximately two inches of asphalt from the selected sections of the roadway and lay a surface of new asphalt. Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday evening through Thursday morning.
The Blue Lakes locations will include portions of the southbound outside lane between Canyon Springs Road and Pole Line Road, at Caswell Avenue, the southbound right turn near Filer Avenue, and the southbound right lane near Heyburn Avenue.
Work on Addison Avenue will take place in the eastbound lanes at the intersection with Washington Street. Three lanes – including the northbound turn bay – west of the intersection and two eastbound through lanes will be milled and replaced with a new driving surface.
The contract also includes work on U.S. 30 in Buhl. Similar work will take place in the eastbound lanes between the Burley Avenue intersection to near the Ridley’s Family Market entrance. That work is expected to take place on Thursday.
The roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction around each of the work zones, but the roadway will remain open to traffic. Drivers are cautioned to be prepared for bumps and uneven driving surfaces through each of the work zones.
Drivers are urged to be cautious near the construction zone and watch for crew members and equipment. ITD appreciates the patience and cooperation of those driving through the work zone.
Idaho Materials and Construction (formerly Idaho Sand and Gravel), of Jerome, is the contractor for the $147,296 project.
