Low temperatures disrupt bridge maintenance project on I-184 Connector in Boise
BOISE--Crews worked overnight (July 27) as scheduled to place a sealant on the roadway of the I-184 bridge over the Boise River, as part of the Idaho Transportation’s Department project to maintain and extend the life of 10 bridges in Ada County.
The material that was placed by the contractor took longer than projected to cure, due to low temperatures overnight. Early this morning, ITD management made the decision to maintain lane closures and restrictions until the sealant dried, to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
ITD is actively working with our contractor and the product manufacturer to determine placement parameters to ensure the project can be completed with minimal impact to the traveling public, specifically to avoid high commute times.
ITD appreciates the public’s patience as we worked through this unforeseen event.
