Closures, flagging at I-84 westbound on-ramp at Gowen Interchange this weekend (July 31-Aug. 2)
BOISE – Excavating and paving will close the I-84 westbound on-ramp at the Gowen Interchange Friday and Saturday nights (July 31 and Aug. 1), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. Crews will be working on the connection between the new on-ramp and Gowen Road.
On both nights, the on-ramp will close at 8 p.m. and reopen at 7 a.m. the following morning. During the overnight closures, motorists will be detoured to access westbound I-84 from the Broadway Avenue Interchange using Federal Way.

“The asphalt between the base of the on-ramp and Gowen Road will be temporarily removed as crews resurface the roadway on Saturday night,” said Merrill Sharp, ITD project manager. “Motorists can expect to cross a temporary gravel surface when entering the on-ramp during the day on Saturday.”
On Sunday night (Aug. 2), flaggers will direct traffic onto westbound I-84 from Gowen Road while crews stripe the newly paved ramp.
ITD is replacing the I-84 Gowen Road Interchange to increase capacity and allow for a smoother flow of traffic.
