Overnight closures at I-84 Gowen Interchange this week as crews pave north side of Gowen Road (Aug. 4-8)
BOISE – Overnight closures are planned at the Interstate 84 Gowen Road Interchange and Gowen Road Tuesday through Saturday (Aug. 4-8), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. Throughout the week, crews will be paving the north side of Gowen Road between Federal Way and Eisenman Road.
Below is an overview of upcoming traffic impacts.
• The north side of the intersection at Gowen Road and Eisenman Road will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday night (Aug. 4) as crews prepare for paving. The north side of the intersection will be flagged Thursday night (Aug. 6) during paving, and drivers can expect short delays.
- Crews will excavate the intersection Tuesday night and pave Thursday night. Drivers will cross a temporary gravel surface Wednesday morning through Thursday evening.
- Paving at the north side of the intersection will be complete by Friday morning.
• The I-84 westbound on-ramp at the Gowen Interchange will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday night (Aug. 5). The intersection of Gowen Road and the westbound on-ramp will be flagged Thursday night (Aug. 6) during paving, and drivers can expect short delays.
- During the overnight closure on Wednesday night, motorists will be detoured to access westbound I-84 from the Broadway Avenue Interchange via Federal Way.
- Crews will excavate the on-ramp on Wednesday night and pave the ramp on Thursday night. Motorists can expect to cross a temporary gravel surface when entering the westbound on-ramp during the day Thursday.
- Paving at the westbound on-ramp will be complete by Friday morning.
• Lane closures will be in place on Gowen Road between Federal Way and Eisenman Road from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights (Aug. 7 and 8).
- Flaggers will direct traffic as crews work overnight to finish paving the north side of this section of Gowen Road.
ITD is rebuilding Gowen Road from Federal Way to S. Eisenman Road as part of the Gowen Road Interchange Project. Gowen Road is being widened to two lanes in both directions, with a third lane on the eastbound side.
