Signal at Meridian Road and I-84 eastbound off-ramp will be turned off tomorrow night (Aug. 6) for power line relocation

MERIDIAN – Flaggers will direct traffic through the intersection of Meridian Road and the I-84 eastbound off-ramp Thursday night (Aug. 6), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. The traffic signal will be turned off at 10 p.m. so crews can work overnight to relocate a power line. The signal will back in operation by Friday morning (Aug. 7).

During this work, lane restrictions will be in place on Meridian Road between the I-84 eastbound off-ramp and Overland Road. Lanes will be restricted from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The power line is being relocated so crews can install a sign structure for the new I-84 Meridian Interchange.

The speed limit will be 35 mph on Meridian Road during the overnight work.

ITD is replacing the current Meridian Interchange with one that accommodates more traffic and more lanes on I-84.

Concrete Placing Company, of Boise, is the contractor for the $50.8 million I-84, Meridian Interchange reconstruction project.
