Chip seal on U.S. 95, Idaho 54 starts Thursday
COEUR D'ALENE - Crews will chip seal a six-mile section of U.S. 95 through Athol, in the Garwood to Sagle corridor, starting Thursday (Aug. 20), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The work is expected to finish in early September.
Work
from milepost 447-453 will proceed first with the frontage roads first followed by the main route, and crews will first work in the northbound lanes. Speeds will be reduced to 45
mph through the work zone, with flaggers and pilot cars on hand to guide
traffic.
Crews also will seal coat a 1.5-mile stretch of
Idaho 54 from just west of the Blair Castle Road intersection to the
intersection of Howard Road and Idaho 54. Work will progress from
eastbound to westbound.
Snake River Contractors, of Twin Falls, is the contractor on this work, which is within the overall $27.5 million Garwood-to-Sagle project.
